Professor Dr. Wolfgang Faigle deceased
The iarigai mourns the loss of Professor Dr. Wolfgang Faigle from the Stuttgart Media University (Hochschule der Medien).
Wolfgang Faigle passed away a few days ago, a death that came as a great surprise to everyone. He was a long-term supporter and active member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Print and Media Technology Research.
Faigle retired in 2016. He had taught at the HdM since 1991 in the fields of industrial and safety engineering, chemistry, environmental protection and materials, predominantly on the HdM’s Print and Media Technology programme. He has been Vice-Rector of the university since 2002, specialising in research and international relations. Faigle was born in 1953 in Winterlingen in the Zollernalb district. After studying chemistry at the Albert-Ludwigs University in Freiburg, he completed his doctorate at the University of Dortmund in 1981. Faigle then worked in various positions at the State Institute for Environmental Protection (LfU) of Baden-Württemberg in Karlsruhe, where he was head of the occupational health laboratory, among other things. After holding several positions in environmental administration, including at the Regional Council of Tübingen and the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Environment, Faigle was appointed professor at the University of Applied Sciences for Printing in 1991, later known as Stuttgart Media University.
