A Letter from President

Dear visitor of this website,

With members from more than 20 countries, iarigai is a worldwide association in the field of print and media bringing together research organizations, institutes, companies and universities for the benefit of industry and society.

These days our industry faces numerous challenges, such as digitalization, globalization, industry 4.0, shortage of skilled employees etc. etc. However, there are also great opportunities like industrial and functional printing, green printing, packaging printing, printed electronics, 3D-printing and many more. The goals of iarigai and its members are to identify appropriate research fields, anticipate evolutions, be alert for likely game changers, carry out scientific investigations and develop ideas, which together can support the needs of the industry and society overall. Seeking co-operation with related organizations, for example, in the field of education or amongst industrial associations, might be one of the key factors for sustainable success.

The Corona pandemic is affecting all our activities and we all hope that we can come back to “normal” life soon. We had to postpone the conference that was scheduled for September 2020 in Clemson University. Since the venue for the 2021 annual conference was already fixed to be Athens the conference in 2022 will be at Clemson.

Alike 2018 where we met in Warsaw at the University of Technology the annual conference 2021 will be again a joint conference together with the International Circle of Educational Institutes for Graphic Arts Technology and Management (IC). We are looking forward to a very interesting conference. If it is not possible to hold the conference in presence it will be a hybrid or as ultima ratio a virtual one.

After we had our first very successful webinar with excellent presentations we continue this by organising a symposium during the virtual DRUPA. The symposium will also be organised together with the IC and other institutions. See https://www.ic-iarigai-drupa2021.org for more information.
